Eligible: A modern retelling of Pride and Prejudice is a 2016 novel written by Curtis Sittenfeld that is a modern-day reinterpretation of Jane Austen's novel Pride and Prejudice[1] set in Cincinnati, Ohio.

Eligible is the latest book in the Austen Project, a series that pairs contemporary novelists with Jane Austen’s novels.[1]

Plot

Liz is a magazine writer in her thirties; her older sister Jane is a yoga instructor. They both live in New York City. Their father has a health scare and they return to their childhood home in Cincinnati to help, and find that the sprawling Tudor house they grew up in is falling apart just like their family.
