Elizabeth Cowie

Elizabeth Cowie is a British academic and author, professor of film studies at the University of Kent.[1]

Cowie a degree in history, politics and sociology.[1] After university, she found work in publishing, and from 1972-76, was editorial assistant for the Screen.[1]

In 1982, Cowie joined the University of Kent to teach on its new film studies programme. Since then, the department has become one of the country's leading university centres for film studies.[1]
