Emilio Chiovenda

Emilio Chiovenda (Rome, May 18, 1871 - Bologna, February 19, 1941) was an Italian botanist.[1] He collected in Italy, Eritrea and Ethiopia, especially the he Ruwenzori Mountains, from 1893 to 1909.[2]

He frequently collaborated with Pietro Romualdo Pirotta for the Flora of Cologne Eritrea; he was also associated with many other institutions. [2]

His principle collections remain in Bologna with about 20,000 samples.[4]
