Eric Michael Haase (born December 18, 1992) is an American professional baseball catcher for the Cleveland Indians of Major League Baseball.

Career

Haase attended Divine Child High School in Dearborn, Michigan. The Cleveland Indians selected him in the seventh round of the 2011 MLB draft. He signed with the Indians, rather than enroll at Ohio State University, receiving a $580,000 signing bonus.[1][2] After the 2017 season, the Indians added Haase to their 40-man roster.[3]

Haase and his wife, Maria, had a son in May 2014.[4]

Haase was called up to the major leagues for the first time on September 1, 2018.
