Erica Garcia , Argentine singer, composer , multiinstrumentalist , Latin Grammy nominee 2000 as " Best female Rock artist" for her popular tune "Vete Destino".

Erica Garcia is known by her smart ,ironic lyrics and powerful music. Being the electric guitar her main instrument , she has played bass, ukelele, percussion, drums and back vocals for Imaad Wasiff ( Sebadoh, Yeah yeah yeahs, Folk implosion) , Fool´s Gold and Let´s Go sailing.
She recorded, made projects or played shows with Van Dyke Parks^[2],Jon Brion,Justin Meldahl Johnsen,Joe Gore, Victor Indrizzo, Joey Waronker, Divididos, Andrea Alvarez, Gustavo Santaolalla, Javier Calamaro, Maria Gabriela Epumer, Miranda! Leo Garcia, Fernando Samalea, David Campbell,Brazzaville and Cienfuegos.
She started her music life creating Mata Violeta, the band ,in 1991(until 1995) with Karina Tamburini (drums) and Nancy Gonzalez (bass, replaced in 1993 by Florencia "Flopa" Lescani .

1996 :Erica starts her solo career recording 3 albums for Universal
1997: her first album "El Cerebro" (The Brain) is produced by Ricardo Mollo.
1999: her second album "La Bestia" ( The Beast) is produced by Ricardo Mollo and herself.

^[5]^[6] She collaborated in an album/benefit for indios del Chaco, Pampa del Indio , produced by Javier Calamaro, in wich Erica Garcia participates with the likes of Charly Garcia, Andres Calamaro, Mercedes Sosa, Leon Gieco, Las Pelotas, and others.
Erica collaborated with band Divididos, on ukelele and accordion in¨El Burrito¨ and ¨Sisters¨for different albums.
She was guest musician in all the shows of Divididos at Estadio Obras and All Boys from 1992 to 1998.
After touring Argentina, California and Spain, Erica moved to Los Angeles in 2003 .
She created Mountain Party , a new project inspired by Devendra Banhart , mellow psychedelic folk, not as agressive as she used to be in Argentina.
Devendra Banhart booked her for his festival Hypnorituals and Mesmemusical Miracles Hangin in the Sky, 2006. Since then she has played with Comets on Fire, Daniel Lanois, The Entrance Band, Hecuba, Women and Children, Rainbow Arabia, The Black Pine, Fool´s Gold , The Chapin Sisters and other indie artists.

TV: Franco Buenaventura (2002)
She received offers to participate in the "Vagina Monologues", TV series (POP ,Disputas) and films from emerging directors. She didn't commit to any of these projects due to the change of residency when she moved to the US.
2002: MTV special "Chicas Arriba", host.
2000: She organizes the festival ¨Rosa Rosa¨ . Some bands and artists who performed: Sugar Tampaxxx, Celeste Carballo, She Devils, Mujercitas Terror, Florencia Ciliberti.
2007: she opens New High Art, an art space in Chinatown, Los Angeles, currently New High (m)Art a unique boutique featuring Brian Lichtemberg , more avant garde designers and some designs from Erica Garcia as well.

Personal Life:
She's been married to Ricardo Mollo (Divididos, 1989 to 1999) and she's been linked toAnthony Kiedis[[1]] (Red Hot Chili Peppers) , Beck^[7], Vincent Gallo, Devendra Banhart^[8] , Maximo Celada and argentine actor Mariano Martinez .
