She was supported in playing football by her father, a professor of geophysics at the University of Cologne, who is an amateur footballer as well. She has two older brothers, the one being footballer and the other performing athletics.[1]

Playing career

Her father took Esra Sibel to football matches always he was playing. So, she got interested in football at her very early age. She began playing football with boys since no girls were available to play with. At age five, her father registered Esra Sibel to a club, where she had to play again with boys. After six years when she became eleven, she was transferred by the women's side of SC Fortuna Köln in her hometown, where she started to play football among girls. She finds that her time of playing with boys had contributed very positive on her strength.[1]
