History
FC Morristown (or FC Motown) was founded in 2012, and will compete in the National Premier Soccer League, the fourth tier of the American Soccer Pyramid, roughly equal to the USL Premier Development League starting in the 2018. In the 2017 NPSL season, FC Motown played under the Clarkstown Eagles, where most of Clarkstown's lineup was made up of players from FC Motown. Following a successful 2017 campaign, it was decided that the Clarkstown Eagles would be re-branding as FC Motown. 2016 saw the team make a run in the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup, where FC Motown was later eliminated in the second round. The team will now play home matches at Drew University's Ranger Stadium, which holds roughly 1,200 fans.
FC Motown are four-time Super Division Champions of Garden State Soccer League (GSSL), winning the title in 2014, 2015, 2016, and 2017. Over that stretch, FC Motown has amounted a 56-3-4 record, with a +189 goal differential. Entering the 2018 season, FC Motown has a 23-game undefeated streak in the GSSL.[citation needed] In addition, FC Motown was also a Fricker Cup Region 1 finalist in 2016 and regional semifinalist in 2017. The team was also an Amateur Cup Region 1 semifinalist in 2014 and 2015.
FC Motown has had multiple players sign professional contacts off its squad during its brief history. It has had high-profile friendlies during the past year against NYCFC, Red Bulls II, Ecuadorian U-20 National Team, and Peruvian side Sport Boys. FC Motown strives to balance a community-centric approach with being of the best clubs in the nation.
In 2012, high school classmates Scott Kindzieski and Dan Karosen founded FC Motown and in five short years, FC Motown has become of the best semi-pro clubs in the nation. The club right now is a mix of former elite college players, who are just now beginning their work careers, as well as aspiring pros who will travel wherever it takes to achieve their dreams. The club has been coached by former United States U20 player, Šaćir Hot.
