Farm to Market Road 172 or FM 172 is a two-lane, state-maintained highway that connects the farming areas of eastern Archer County and southern Clay County, Texas (USA). It passes just south of and crosses a portion of Lake Arrowhead in Clay County.
History
FM 172 was designated in 1945 from SH 148 west via Bluegrove to Deer Creek.[1] In 1951, the route from Bluegrove to Deer Creek was either cancelled or transferred to FM 1883. Instead, it was rerouted west to US 281 at Scotland, replacing FM 1783. In 1953, it extended westward and southward to SH 25, completing its current route.[1]
Termini
FM 172 terminates at SH 25 near Windthorst and at SH 148 near Bluegrove, between Henrietta and Jacksboro.
