Description
English: Oblong, with short sides curved. "Pencil Box" type construction with 3 interlocking parts that swivel open on wooden pins. The first or upper layer features a black, transfer printed image of a castle in bucolic setting, inscribed "CARRICK CASTLE, LOCHGOIL" below. When uppermost layer is pivoted open, a coin-size, circular recess is revealed, possibly the area on which the match was struck; this second section or layer, when opened, reveals main body hollowed out for containing matches.
