Film taken by William Zabransky, Jr., then-chief of the Little Ferry Fire Department, in 1937. The Zabransky family donated his historical film footage of Little Ferry to the city's Centennial Celebration Committee; it was then digitized (and published to YouTube) by Frank Fuchs, the committee's coordinator, in or about 2007. It is likely impossible to conclusively determine whether the legal rightsholder at this time is the Committee (or some other city-related organization), Fuchs, or a member of the Zabransky family (both Zabransky, Jr. and his direct heir are deceased), but it is effectively certain that the 2007 publication was made with the permission of all of the potential copyright claimants. |

| Purpose of use in article (WP:NFCC#8) | This is a segment of the unique historical video taken during the destruction of Fox Film's Little Ferry, NJ film vault by fire during the early morning of July 9, 1937. This is very likely the only film footage of an nitrate film vault fire. Additionally, Kodachrome color motion picture film had only been introduced in 1935, so its use (especially in amateur footage) at this time is quite rare (compare to the Hindenburg disaster in the same year, where even professional newsreels were entirely in black and white). William Zabransky, Jr. was honored by his Congressional Representative in 1969; the article entered into the Congressional Record made specific note that he had filmed the "great fire of 1937".[1] |

| Other information | Out of an abundance of caution, this NFCC assumes that the 2007 YouTube upload was the first publication. However, the full version of the digitized video includes a title card with contemporary styling that strongly suggests this footage had been previously incorporated into a newsreel, or otherwise published, in or about 1937. If that is the case, this footage would most likely be in the public domain (likely due to a failure to renew copyright, if copyright was filed in the first place). However, at this time, no such newsreel has been conclusively identified, and surviving records of newsreel publication from that time are limited at best. |
