Summary

Description
English: This photo shows American artist Lillian Burke (left, with short bob haircut, dark short-sleeve twin set) with "Savonnerie" design rug based on an original seventeenth century carpet in the Louvre. It was reputed to be the largest hooked rug ever created (648 sq. ft) and was made by nine women over a six month period under the direction of Mme Annie à Joseph Chiasson in Belle-Marche, Cape Breton.
