Map of New York (in blue) and surrounding states showing telephone area codes, with this area code in red. If this map is the primary area code map of New York (master map), no area code appears in red. Map is correct as of January 2, 2013.

All New York telephone Area Code maps are now using the SVG file format due to the regular need for changes, the older PNG image format maps have been deprecated and will no longer be maintained, changed, corrected or updated when new area codes are added to New York or to U.S. states or the Canadian Province of Ontario bordering New York.

Note: if this map must be replaced because new area codes are added, please start with the Master map "Area codes ny.svg" and update that first, then update all individual area code files from that master by coloring the individual area code red. This ensures all maps will be correct.
