Description
Español: Francisco de Zurbarán, Bodegón, Museo del Prado, óleo sobre lienzo, 46 cm x 84 cm. La pintura representa seis utensilios de menaje: un recipiente de metal y tres cerámicos, de los que el primero (metálico) y el cuarto reposan sobre sendos platos, y todos se asientan encima de una repisa. El artista se recrea en representar distintas texturas, brillantes o mates en un fondo negro.

Utiliza una disposición de los elementos muy simple. Es la luz tenebrista la que hace destacar las figuras, pero no hay sombras proyectadas entre ellos, por lo que debió de pintar cada uno de los objetos separadamente.

Es uno de los escasos bodegones del maestro extremeño y, como es habitual en él, se detiene en el placer de representar los distintos materiales y texturas, que capta con un alarde de técnica. La sobriedad del cuadro elude presentar significado simbólico alguno. Todo es materialidad y quietud.
