20-car freight train northbound on the Cape Breton & Central Nova Scotia Railway Abercrombie spur, at 8:09am, 12 Sep. 2003. This train originated at the Stellarton yard, and passed through Westville a few minutes before this photograph was taken. It will deliver and pick up cars at two industrial plants, Michelin Tire at Granton and the paper mill at Abercrombie Point. This track – the last remaining section of what used to be known as the Oxford Subdivision of CN – was built about 1870 as the Pictou Branch of the Nova Scotia Railway, except for this new bridge over the TransCanada Highway built in 1998 to accommodate the widening of the TCH to four lanes.
