Summary

Description
English: Coat of Arms of the Borough of Birmingham. On the roof of the former National Provincial Bank, 8 Bennetts Hill and 11 Waterloo Street Birmingham, England. Subsequently National Westminster Bank and then various pubs. Made in stone, 1869, by Samuel Lynn. The shield was adopted by the Corporation of Birmingham in 1867 but the supporters were not granted by the College of Arms until Birmingham's granting of city status in 1889.
