English: What is Epilepsy? Epilepsy is a condition characterized by recurrent and unpredictable seizures. Seizures are characterized by groups of neurons being activated simultaneously, leading to both outward symptoms like muscle jerking and convulsions, as well as inward symptoms like abnormal sensations. This video covers the different types of seizures, including partial seizures and its subtypes: simple partial and complex partial seizures, as well as generalized seizures and its subtypes: tonic, atonic, clonic, tonic-clonic, myoclonic, and absence seizures. It also briefly covers diagnosis and treatment of epilepsy.
