Summary

Description
English: Video footage of vehicles seized and crushed after men found guilty of illegal cockling on the Dee Estuary.

Since 2012, 12 people have been prosecuted after being caught cockling illegally on the Dee Estuary.

Natural Resources Wales manages a sustainable cockle fishery on the Dee Estuary since 2008. We do this by carefully balancing the needs of people and wildlife. Each year, one third of the cockles can be harvested, one third are left to regenerate the beds for the following year and one third is available for the estuary's internationally important wildlife. Currently there are 53 full licensees, with their annual catch based on how many cockles can be sustainably harvested.

People concerned about illegal fishing in their area should contact the Natural Resources Wales incident hotline on 0800 80 70 60.
Cymraeg: Fideo o gerbyd gafodd ei wasgu ar ôl i ddynion gael eu dedfru'n euog o hel cocos yn anghyfreithlon ar Aber Afon Dyfrdwy.

Ers 2012, mae 12 o bobl wedi cael eu herlyn ar ôl cael eu dal yn casglu cocos yn anghyfreithlon ar Aber Afon Dyfrdwy.

Mae Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru yn rheoli pysgodfa gocos gynaliadwy yn aber Dyfrdwy ers 2008. Rydym yn gwneud hyn drwy gydbwyso anghenion pobl a bywyd gwyllt yn ofalus. Bob blwyddyn, mae un rhan o dair o'r cocos yn cael eu cynaeafu, un rhan o dair yn cael eu gadael i adfywio gwelyau ar gyfer y flwyddyn ganlynol a thraean ar gael ar gyfer bywyd gwyllt yr aber - sy'n safle pwysig rhyngwladol.

Dylai pobl sy'n pryderu am bysgota anghyfreithlon yn eu hardal gysylltu â'r llinell ddigwyddiadau Cyfoeth Naturiol Cymru ar 0800 80 70 60.
