The poem is in the public domain and is an example of an unconventional rondeau, one that consists of eight lines and not the usual fifteen. The refrain repeats itself in the same stanza and the rhyming scheme is also a-b-a-b c-d-c-d, but it has a lovely refrain that makes up for everything. |
