English: Date and photographer unknown. Akashi died in 1939, so it must have been taken before that. Presumably taken at en:Nagashima Aiseien Sanatorium, where he was confined until his death.

日本語: この写真は、長島愛生園、目白舎前で撮影された集合写真の一部を切り取ったもののようである。元の写真は、長島詩遥会のメンバーらと撮影した写真で、明石はその右端に映っており、1936年頃に撮られたもののようである。同集合写真には藤本浩一も映っている。『ハンセン病文学全集 第6巻 詩 一』(皓星社、2003年)の巻頭にこの集合写真が収められている。
