English: Kaolao (Thai script: เกาเหลา) is a Thai soup of Chinese origin which contains only meat and vegetables, A proper kaolao will normally always contain offal, often pork liver and intestines such as here, and in this particular case also boiled eggs, crispy pork, and white pork sausage.
If one goes to a regular noodle soup shop and asks to have a dish kaolao, the soup will be served with whatever meats and vegetables are asked for, but without any noodles.
Due to this dish being of Chinese origin, chopsticks are provided.
Some people eat this with steamed rice on the side.
