Summary

Description
English: Estimating a supermodel of life expectancy using high-performance computing | Katharina Hauck

What are the most important determinants of life expectancy? Using the “model averaging” analysis approach, Katharina Hauck – Senior Lecturer at Imperial College’s School of Public Health – explains how 45 determinants were studied across two decades worth of data from low-income countries. Factors which showed a robust connection to life expectancy included sanitation and primary schooling. Surprisingly, the same was not true for factors such as air pollution and healthcare.
