Key Center (formerly, "Society Center") in downtown Cleveland, Ohio. The 57-story tower, designed by Cesar Pelli Architects, was completed in 1991, along with the 25-story Marriott at Key Center hotel. The tower stands at a lofty 948 feet from its base on Public Square to the 9" diameter stainless-steel ball atop the spire. As opposed to demolishing the historic 10-story red brick and sandstone Society for Savings building, Society Bank decided to incorporate it into the new project. Society Bank merged with Key Bank in 1994 and the complex was renamed, making it Key Bank's headquarters.
