Description

English: Tropical Storm Lee as seen from a GOES floater satellite on Sept 3, 2011 at 1100 UTC. At the time this special RGB image was taken, Lee was a moderate tropical storm with winds of 60 mph (97 km/h) and a minimum central pressure of 995 mbar (29.38 inHG). The storm's center was being sheared the day before, but by this time, the center was beginning to wrap around, but the convection was still of to the east of the center. The storm was located at 29.4°N, 92.0°W, 15 mi (25 km) south-southeast of Intracoastal City, Louisiana and 45 mi 970 km) south of New Iberia, Louisiana. The storm was close to landfall in Louisiana.
