If this image was first published in China, it will still have been in copyright at the URAA renewal date and will therefore be copyrighted in the US for many years to come. However, Alamy credits a version of this photograph to Keystone, and if Keystone (simultaneously) first published it in the US, and did so without a copyright notice, then it would now be PD in the US. In my eyes though, that is too much of a hypothetical to keep this image.
