Deutsch: Stammsitz der Nassauischen Sparkasse Wiesbaden. Sie ist die Rechtsnachfolgerin der Landes-Credit-Casse Nassau (Naussauische Landesbank), deren Gründung am 22. Januar 1840 durch den Nassauischen Herzog Adolph erfolgte. Der älteste Bauteil an der Ecke Rheinstraße / Adolfstraße (links im Hintergrund) wurde noch vor der preußischen Annexion von 1866 zwischen 1860 und 1863 unter Leitung des Wiesbadener Architekten Richard Görz (nahezu zeitgleich mit dem ebenfalls von ihm erbauten Justizgebäude) errichtet. Der um eine Achse in die Rheinstraße vorspringende Bauteil (links) wurde 1914–1916 ergänzt, der Ecktrakt zur Moritzstraße (rechts) entstand erst 1982 mit einer an die älteren Bauteile angepassten Fassadengestaltung (Klassizismus bzw. Neoklassizismus). |
