Summary

Description

Oops, I did it again!

Yes, it's another pano, but it's entirely contextually justified.

Laura and I are both snooker fans, and neither of us have ever been to a live snooker event. For Christmas, I picked her up two tickets for the quarter finals of the Welsh Open held today at Cardiff.

Obviously, we had no idea in December who we'd be seeing, but we reasoned that as it was the quarter finals it wouldn't be anyone crap.

Wouldn't you know, this was the tournament where not a single one of the top ten players made it through to the quarter finals, but that doesn't mean we were denied great players, or for that matter, world champions.

We definitely drew lucky with getting the afternoon session, featuring John Higgins against Stephen Maguire, and Mark Williams against Marco Fu.

As you can imagine, a victory for Mark Williams was very popular in his homeland.

It was terrific fun, and great to be a part of it all and to understand how these things work in real life. In truth, it also reinforced that like most sports - with the possible exception of Football and darts - it is better experienced on the telly.

Wouldn't have missed it for the world though, and the 5:45am start was even worth it. :) And we got ourselves on the telly. ;)

Public domain
The Public Domain Mark (PDM) is not a copyright license, but a symbol used to indicate that a work is in the public domain. When it is applied by the author or the copyright holder, community consensus has decided such works as being public domain in the US and countries where it is legally possible to release own work to the public domain. In the countries where this is not possible, the copyright status of the work remains undetermined.
If a file is tagged with Public Domain Mark by someone other than the author or the copyright holder, a more specific copyright tag such as one found at Commons:Copyright tags/General public domain must be applied. If this is your own work, please use {{Cc-zero}} instead.
