Summary

Description
English: A protester bangs against a light pole using a stone in w:Tahrir Square, during the w:2011 Egyptian Revolution. Banging poles and metal railings was the method used by protesters to "sound the alarm", either to warn against approaching pro-Mubarak thugs, or to warn of attempts by the Egyptian Army to move tanks closer to Tahrir Square, squeezing the protesters into narrower areas.
