Description
English: Still image taken from footage from an RAF Tornado GR4, showing the aircraft using Brimstone Missiles to destroy a Main Battle Tank in Libya during Operation Ellamy in 2011.

UK Royal Air Force aircraft were providing support for NATO's Operation Unified Protector to protect Libyan civilians and the civilian population under threat of attack and enforce UN Security Council Resolution 1973.

On the morning of Tuesday 12th April Tornado GR4s flew from the UK Forward Operating Base at Gioia Del Colle to patrol around the area of Misratah.
