Description
English: "HOW TO SPOT A JAP" (1942): US War Department produced a comic strip that was included in the 1st edition of "POCKET GUIDE TO CHINA", a 75-page booklet distributed to those serving in the US Army and Navy stationed in China during World War II. Art by Milton Caniff, who made the "TERRY AND THE PIRATES" comic. HOW TO SPOT A JAP was later removed from all subsequent POCKET GUIDE TO CHINA printings, beginning with a 2nd print in 1944.

A note that the contents of this comic strip are used to provide a historical reference to media of the United States military during World War II; the comic contents are not entirely factual nor accurate, and should not be used as a guide to distinguish between Asians by appearance alone.
