Summary
[edit]Photographer unknown. Image not available online as far as can be ascertained. Low-resolution copy of part of a British CD cover. Fair Use: low-resolution version of a photo of a bandleader to illustrate article about that bandleader. There appears to be no free equivalent that would serve the same encyclopaedic purpose. From a British photo that is c.60 years old of British people no longer living. This is not a copy of the whole CD cover. There can be no reasonable supposition that this picture's reproduction here would replace the original market role or impinge on any other commercial opportunities. Its omission would be detrimental to readers' understanding of the subject of the article. The photograph is not from the 1950s, but is a "still" from a 1938 Pathe Gazette film shown in UK cinemas.
