Description
English: Frontispiece illustration to A Wonder-Book by Nathaniel Hawthorne. The scene depicted is from the "frame story" of the book, wherein Eustace Bright entertains several children by telling them stories and myths. From an edition published in 1880 by Houghton, Osgood and Co., The Riverside Press, Cambridge, 1876. This "Illustrated Library Edition" of the book includes Hawthorne's Grandfather's Chair as well. Full digital edition.
