In magic, mysticism & the occult, this pic is not a pentagram, it is a pentacle. A pentagram is a upside-down pentacle. And to be seen as this, it needs a circle around it. The pentacle represents God over Earth. A deity/spirit over the earth and its forces (wind, water, earth, fire). The pentagram represents the opposite.... Earth and it forces, over God. In new age religions, the former is seen as good/white, and the latter is seen as dark/evil/black. In Christianity and Catholicism they're both seen as evil. --- In geometry these shape terms are interchangeable and can be considered as the same, but not when used in spirituality and the metaphysical... very big difference in their energies.
