Replaceable fair use File:ROCposts.gif

[edit]

I would dispute that the OS copyright is broken.

Extracts from OS web site:

  • "… You are allowed to download and edit these images for whatever purpose, provided the Ordnance Survey copyright acknowledgement remains on the image."

The relevant stipulation seems to be:

  • "You must not use the images for financial gain."

This has since been modified with my own artwork and is thus irreplaceable! — Saltmarshtalk 05:57, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
The assertion is that the image could be replaced by an alternative free image. Would the nominator care to point out where exactly one could find a free image depicting Royal Observer Corps monitoring post locations some 20 years after the organisation was disbanded. I spent a very long time searching for such an image and failed to identify one. 21st CENTURY GREENSTUFF 13:17, 17 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I am not aware of any such image, I do not know where one might be available. — Saltmarshtalk 05:26, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Flagged as replaceabel because the data could be overlaid on OS-OpenData mapping as opposed to 'commerical' OS Mapping.

In some cases the OS OpenData set would be more appropriate in any event, as you can put in the boundary lines. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 23:08, 18 September 2012 (UTC)[reply]
