The research supporting this image is poor

While the assertion that Lehi may have travelled west rather than east to maximize coastal access for food and water is reasonable, there are several problems. (a) If West was the intended path with food and water a relevant issue, the Mediterranean Sea was much, much simpler to access and would have removed months if not years from the trip, (b) the referenced verse (Helaman 3:29) for crossing a "gulf" does not discuss a body of water, or even Lehi, (c) the port at Grande Comore having the name "Moroni" (a person related to the Book of Mormon story who wouldn't be born from Lehi's perspective for 1,000 years) is circumstantial, and (d) the statement that the "unathoritative" but common belief of an eastern passage is "extreme" is unduly challenging and violates Wiki's neutrality requirements. I stopped looking for shortcomings after these. In short, this image contains a personal point of view that is poorly researched. --JBH (talk) 22:31, 17 October 2018 (UTC)
