Francesco De Nittis

Francisco De Nittis (3 July 1933 – 10 March 2014) was a Roman Catholic archbishop and diplomat.

Born in Vieste, Italy, De Nittis was ordained a priest in 1956. In 1981, he was named titular archbishop of Tunes and then apostolic nuncio to Papua New Guinea and apostolic delegate to the Solomon Islands. De Nittis was then appointed apostolic nuncio to El Salvador and Honduras in 1986. Finally, he was appointed apostolic nuncio to Uruguay in 1990 resigning in 1999.[1] He died on 10 March 2014 from natural causes at the age of 80.
