Friedrich Herrlein (27 April 1889 – 28 July 1974) was a highly decorated General der Infanterie in the Wehrmacht during World War II who commanded the LV. Corps. He was also a recipient of the Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross. The Knight's Cross of the Iron Cross was awarded to recognise extreme battlefield bravery or successful military leadership. Friedrich Herrlein was captured by British troops in 1945 and was held until 1948.
