Gajjar is a surname/title representing a sub-caste of Vaishnav Gujarati's from Hindu Suthar community. In the state of Gujarat, from the middle of the 1500s through the 1900s, the Gajjar of a village would be a member of the village business committee and they are mostly associated with carpentry and not limited to construction, engineering, architecture.
