Gelechia rhombella, the apple groundling, is a moth of the Gelechiidae family. It is widely distributed in Europe. Outside of Europe, it is found in the Caucasus, Transcaucasia, southern Siberia, the Russian Far East,^[2] Korea and China (Gansu, Qinghai, Jilin).^[3]

The wingspan is 13–17 mm.^[4] Adults are on wing from July to August.

The larvae feed on Malus species (including Malus domestica) and Pyrus communis. They feed from within a folded leaf or between spun leaves.^[5]
