Unterseeboot 501 or U-501 was a German World War II Type IXC U-boat commissioned on 30 April 1941 and served with 2. Unterseebootflottille (U-Boat Flotilla) from 30 April 1941 to 10 September 1941.

U-501 completed one patrol and sunk one ship totalling 2,000 Gross Registered Tonnage. U-501 was sunk on 10 September 1941 in the Straits of Denmark south of Angmagsalik, Greenland by depth charges and ramming from Canadian corvettes HMCS Chambly and HMCS Moosejaw. 11 of U-501's crew members died and 37 survived the attack.
