Gerondas

A Gerondas, (Greek: Γέροντας) is an Elder in the Greek Orthodox Church, similar to the Starets of the Russian Orthodox Church. They are usually monks, particularly Hieromonks.[1] The female equivalent would be a Gerontissa (Γερόντισσα).
