Galltair is a remote coastal, scattered crofting township and former fishing village, overlooking Gills Bay and consists of Upper Gills to the south and the main township on the coast and is situated on the north coast of Caithness, Scottish Highlands and is in the Scottish council area of Highland.

The township is located directly between the villages of Mey to the west along the A836 coast road, and the village of Canisbay to the east.

A ferry terminal is located on Gills Bay which runs a ferry service to Orkney.
