Gmina Śmigiel is an urban-rural gmina (administrative district) in Kościan County, Greater Poland Voivodeship, in west-central Poland. Its seat is the town of Śmigiel, which lies approximately 13 kilometres (8 mi) south-west of Kościan and 52 km (32 mi) south-west of the regional capital Poznań.

The gmina covers an area of 189.89 square kilometres (73.3 sq mi), and as of 2006 its total population is 17,465 (out of which the population of Śmigiel amounts to 5,452, and the population of the rural part of the gmina is 12,013).
