Also known in the United States as the Chilean tarantula, is a common species of tarantula available in American and European pet stores today. Gramostola porteri are mostly docile, low maintenance, and inexpensive, so they are popular as pets.

This tarantula is endemic of Chile.

Grammostola porteri is a species of tarantula described in 1936.[1]
