Guy Houston (born 1960) is an American politician from California. From 2002 to 2008, he represented the 15th district in the California State Assembly as a Republican.

The district Houston represented, the 15th Assembly district, covers parts of four counties: Contra Costa, Alameda, San Joaquin and Sacramento.

Early life

Houston attended San Ramon Valley High School.

Career

Houston, a resident of San Ramon, served as the Mayor of Dublin and was a real estate executive prior to serving in the Assembly.

The district elected Houston three times: in 2002, 2004 and 2006. Term limits prevented him from seeking re-election in 2008. He was succeeded by Joan Buchanan, a Democrat.

In 2008, Houston ran for Contra Costa County Supervisor against incumbent Mary Piepho, a political ally. He lost by 53% to 45%.[1]
