In October 2016, the formation of Gyeongju KHNP Women's Football Club was announced by the president of Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd and the mayor of Gyeongju.[1]

Team name, crest and colors

The team's emblem symbolizes the coastal city of Gyeongju and features a soccer ball and references to Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power Co., Ltd. The meeting of the Gyeongju and Korea Hydro & Nuclear Power women's soccer team results in an explosive synergy exhibited in the design. The explosive attacking power of the horse running on a green stripe pattern, and the KHNP symbol and logo demonstrate the team's physical strength.[2]
