HD 90156 b is an extrasolar planet which orbits the G-type main sequence star HD 90156, located approximately 73 light years away[1] in the constellation Hydra. This planet has at least 17.6 times the mass of Earth and takes over seven weeks to orbit the star at a semimajor axis of 0.264 AU. Its eccentricity is 0.31 ± 0.10, while the inclination is not known, as typical for the radial velocity detection method. This planet was announced by the Swiss-led HARPS team on October 19, 2009, together with 29 other planets.
