Harold Francis Beamish, DSC (7 July 1896 – 16 October 1986) was a New Zealand flying ace of the First World War. He secured 11 victories in aerial dogfights, mostly in the Sopwith Camel.[1]
Beamish was born and died in Havelock North, Hawkes Bay, and attended Wanganui Collegiate School.
He served in the Royal Naval Air Service and the Royal Air Force during the First World War, reaching the rank of captain and receiving the Distinguished Service Cross in 1917.[2] Post-war, he returned to New Zealand where he became a sheep farmer.
