Harry Scott Jr. is a North Carolina businessman and NASCAR sprint cup and Nationwide series team owner from the 2010s.[1]
Career
In his earlier years, Scott was the co owner of the Turner Scott Motorsports racing team, fielding several drivers, and even winning races with drivers like Bradley "Reed" sorenson and Justin Allgaier, including the final NASCAR Nationwide race at Gilles villinueve speedway. The team even won a truck series championship,[2] 11 truck series races, 8 nationwide series races, and several Poles in both series.
Starting in late 2013, Scott bought Phoenix Racing from longtime team owner James Finch, renaming it Hscott Motorsports. In 2014, the team brought 2 cars to the cup series, the pair of rookies Justin allgaier(51) and Michael Annett(46). After an unsuccessful season in 2014, Scott brought the same 2 drivers to the team in 2015. In 2016, allgaier went back to the xfinity series,despite getting his first career top 10,[3] and was replaced by veteran driver and 10 time race winner Clint Bowyer. The 51 was changed to a 15 (to honor his time with the now defunct Michael Waltrip aracing), and the popular caffeinated energy shot 5 hour energy was brought over as a sponsor.
