Herzing University is a private, for-profit, career-focused institution of higher education that awards diplomas, associate degrees, bachelor's degrees and master's degrees in a variety of disciplines.
History
Herzing University was founded by Henry and Suzanne Herzing in 1965 as a computer programming school in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. In 1970, the name was changed to Herzing Institute and the organization began to grow through the acquisition of other schools. The name of the school was changed to Herzing College in 1996 and the institution has grown to include campuses in eight U.S. states, three Canadian provinces, plus an online division. In 2009, with the addition of graduate programs, the name was changed to Herzing University for all schools in the United States. The Herzing system headquarters are located in Milwaukee, Wisconsin.
Academics
While expanding its campuses, Herzing also diversified its educational programs to include the fields of business, technology, health care, design, and public safety. All U.S. campus locations award bachelor of science degrees and associate of science degrees. Master's degrees are offered through Herzing University Online. Not all campuses offer all of the programs.
Accreditation
Herzing University is accredited by the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) and is a member of the North Central Association (NCA).[1][2]
