Herzliya Medical Center (Template:Lang-he) is a private hospital located in Herzliya Pituah a neighborhood facing the Mediterranean Sea. It is the first private hospital in Israel (40% owned by Clalit),founded in 1983. It is also one of the leading medical institutions in Israel, as well as a multi-institution that offers a full range of medical services.^{[citation needed]}

Herzliya Medical Center has more than 400 medical experts in all leading branches of medicine.^{[citation needed]} The hospital provides services to 8,000 outbound patients every year including services to all Foreign Nationals in Israel; Embassy employees and U.N. representatives posted to Israel.^{[citation needed]} All the leading Heads of Departments in Israel work as private consultants and surgeons at HMC.^{[citation needed]} Herzliya Medical Center has provided:

History

1983 – The hospital was founded.
1999 – The United Nations and UNDOF elected HMC the number one medical service provider in Israel.
2001 – The hospital founded their exclusive department of medical tourism, whose first patients were Embassy representatives that were posted to Israel.
2013 – Inspection of the Ministry of Health of Israel confirmed HMC as the best medical institution in the country.^{[citation needed]}

Facilities

Herzliya Medical Center is the only private clinic approved to provide treatment for psychiatric needs of patients, in addition to vital procedures such as facilitation of organ transplants, cardiac surgeries, and neurosurgical treatments. Herzliya Medical Center also has an outstanding^{[citation needed]} Endoscopy Department. HMC boasts one of the best Diagnostics Department in Israel including a personal cytogenetic laboratory. In addition, Herzliya Medical Center has four outpatient departments, a modern rehabilitation department, department of nuclear medicine, and other pathological laboratories. HMC consists of eight operating rooms and provides highly skilled solutions^{[clarification needed]} for internal diseases of the following:

Center for Surgical Oncology – qualified^{[citation needed]} surgeons perform pancreas, liver, colon;
General Surgery – common procedures: bariatric surgery, gall bladder surgery, hernia anal fissures, hemorrhoids. Of complex operations are gastroenterological surgery and vascular surgery stomach;
Orthopedic Center – surgery on the knee, hip, spine surgery;
Heart Center – operations of heart defects, all kinds of angioplasty and catheterization;
Cardiac Surgery Centre – has a license for open heart surgery, bypass surgery, valve replacement operations on the carotid artery and heart.
